Kuhnil Pharm. Co., Ltd. (CEO Han-Kuk Lee) and Mochida Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (President Naoyuki Mochida) announced on December 16th that the companies have entered into an agreement for ‘EPADEL,’ the original formulation of highly purified ethyl icosapentate(EPA). Under the terms of the agreement, Kuhnil Pharm. has been granted the exclusive rights to the development and sales of EPADEL in South Korea.

EPADEL is the world’s first highly purified EPA formulation developed by Mochida Pharmaceutical. In Japan, it is indicated for the treatment of hyperlipidemia as well as ulcer, pain and chilliness associated with arteriosclerosis obliterans (ASO). EPADEL has been shown to be effective in preventing CV events in a large-scale clinical study in Japan (JELIS study). The raw materials used in EPADEL are supplied by Nissui Co., Ltd., a company with advanced EPA purification technology and large-scale production capabilities
